Rotman MBA Honoured with Award from Forté Foundation
June 21, 2017
Toronto, ON – A graduating student in the Full Time MBA program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management has received the Edie Hunt Inspiration Award from the Forté Foundation.
Alex Walker Turner, MBA’17, received the award which recognizes the achievements of a woman MBA student who has made significant contributions to her school or community to advance women into business leadership positions. Turner, along with four Rotman classmates, established a new initiative, Rotman LINKS, which connects Rotman MBA students as mentors to female undergraduates across the UofT campus who might have an interest in business as a career. She also launched the first Canadian Graduate Women in Management Conference held at the Rotman School earlier this year.
The award is named in honor of Forté’s Board Chair Emeritus, Edie Hunt, a retired partner at Goldman Sachs and was presented at Forté’s MBA Women’s Leadership Conference in Seattle on Saturday. This is the first time a student from the Rotman School and a Canadian business school has been honoured with the award.
“In her two years in the program Alex has had an impact on in the school and university on an almost daily basis,” says Niki da Silva, managing director of the Rotman Full Time MBA program.
Earlier in the year Turner was named to the Poets&Quants “Best & Brightest MBAs” list which honours 100 of the world’s most accomplished full-time MBAs in the Class of 2017.
